I still call Australia Home..

Yes, this is my story...of how I ended up here in the USA....I will slowly update this with stories and pictures....of a place that I still call home.

My family all still lives there, spread about the state of New South Wales (NSW)....

I travel home about every two years, so that I get to see all my sisters, my niece and nephews....my mum and dad....

And to just get a fix, of the sounds, the smells and the places that I do miss....even as I write this, I get that pang....to just wander down Oxford Street on a hot Saturday afternoon browsing the great stores.....

Or of walking along the shore of Bondi Beach and just watching all the people.......Sydney is great people watching.......

This is me, just stepped off the plane and into the car and drove straight to Bondi Beach...

So anyway I am a Sydney girl.  Grew up on a farm in the suburbs of Sydney - well not really a farm farm, but large enough to have chickens and horses.....

That is where my love of horses began.....a complete and utter love affair that continues to this day.

This is Joshua, he has passed away now.  I bought Joshua as a foal, broke him and showed him for many years.  He was a pure Arabian.  Only 15 hh. He did very well on the National Show Circuit. Just a delightful, beautiful horse.  This was him in his paddock in Australia.

My parents are selling the home I grew up on - the only family home I knew.  It has become too much for them in their advanced ages and they have decided to sell it.  Quite sad.  All those memories.  Very strange to think that we will not own that property anymore.

I am feeling a little homesick today, so I thought I would upload this photo of me and my hubby in Sydney.....this was the most gorgeous Sydney day - hot with no humidity - perfect.  Miss Sydney today.

Below is a photo taken from one of my favorite spots to eat in Sydney - a small restaurant on Balmoral Beach.  Just look at this.  Is this not perfect?????
